Blogsvertise

In a previous post I mentioned that I have been doing some research into the various advertising opportunities available for bloggers and web sites in general.

One of the newer models employed by sites like Blogsvertise, PayPerPost, SponsoredReviews, and ReviewMe. is a bit unconventional. By unconventional I mean that it does not follow the traditional model of you posting one of their advertiser's banner ads or text ads on your site that links to them.

The basic idea is that the services match up bloggers with advertisers who are looking to build traffic to their site and a good reputation. As a blogger, once you are signed up you have to simply write a review of the product/site the advertiser is promoting. Then the blogger gets paid a nominal fee for doing so. Each service has its own requirements, methods of operating and fee structures.

Let's take a look at Blogsvertise as an example. The sign up process for a blogger is simple: provide your name, url, what category your blog falls under, etc. You'll then get an email to confirm your signup and your blog will be reviewed by Blogsvertise to make sure that it meets their standards. Once your blog is approved it is put into their system and an administrator will assign you products/sites to write about. You will be emailed tasks as they are assigned to you and you have 5 days to complete your entry. They say that you don't have to endorse the product, just provide 3 links to the URL you are provided in your post.

The Blogsvertise FAQ says that the normal rate for new bloggers is $4-$25 per post with most falling in the $5-$15 range. You must have a PayPal account to get paid by Blogsvertise as that is the only payment method that they currently support. You receive payments after 30 days from the date your post is approved.

The only other major requirements I found on the Blogsvertise Rules and Guidelines page is that the post must be at least 2-3 paragraphs of approximately 75 words or more and the post must be a permanent entry in your blog.

It looks like an interesting service and opportunity for those looking to monetize their blog. I'll have to keep an eye on this market.
